This isn't just a zoo; it's a vital rescue center where injured and mistreated birds, including the majestic Andean Condor, are given a second chance. Nestled high in the mountains overlooking Otavalo, the park offers breathtaking panoramic views alongside its incredible avian residents. Get ready to witness these magnificent creatures up close and learn about the crucial role they play in the Andean ecosystem. Parque El Condor was founded with the mission of protecting and preserving the endangered birds of prey native to the Andes. Many of the birds have been rescued from illegal captivity or have suffered injuries that prevent them from surviving in the wild. The park provides a safe haven, offering medical care, rehabilitation, and a chance to breed and contribute to the conservation of their species. The park also plays an important role in educating the public about the importance of protecting these magnificent birds and their natural habitats. The highlight of any visit is undoubtedly the daily flight demonstration. Witness condors, eagles, hawks, and owls soaring through the air in a spectacular display of natural agility and power. Beyond the flight show, you can explore the park's enclosures, learning about each species and the challenges they face. The park also offers hiking trails with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Don't forget your camera – the photo opportunities are incredible!
